​Thanks to the community support and volunteers Empower continues to offer court approved classes free of charge that can help with life controlling problems.  Families who have a loved one dealing with a life controlling problem can also attend classes to learn more about recovery. 

Current classes:


12 step, substance abuse recovery class called "Stepping into Freedom"
This class is a deeper look into the 12 steps of recovery from a faith based perspective. It is small groups of no more than 12 individuals led by a facilitator. Participants are required to maintain accountability for 12 weeks with random drug screening and a weekly check in.

Both Anger Mgt. and Parenting classes are offered on Wednesdays. They are 12 week classes. This class is currently taught by David Boney. To enroll email info@empowercockecounty.com



Restoring Families
which is the non offenders domestic violence class for "Overcoming Abuse" 
The next class start date is 1/11/2022. This class is offered on Wednesdays at 11 am. It is a 12 week commitment. 

Insights which is about Godly character. It is our core class and offers a brief look into life controlling problems and prevention.​ This class is great for anyone with a desire to understand more about the struggle behind longterm recovery. It is based off of teen challenge curriculum and includes study by Ruth Graham. This class is offered on Wednesday nights at Crossroads community church, life center at 6 pm with Candi Overholt. Offered by appointment:
Alcohol & Drug Assessments - As a curtesy to local probation Empower offers A&D assessments by referral. The assessments do include a drug screen when applicable. If an assessment is completed with in the first thirty days of probation it is free of charge. After all assessments are $40-$60 on a case by case basis. To schedule an A&D assessment email kaitlyn@empowercockecounty.com
For your assessment you will need the following:
ID (if you have one)
Medication list 
Info for your DCS case manager or probation officer, name and contact info
